TREK OVERVIEW
The Marangu “Coca Cola" Route
The Marangu route, also known as the Coca-Cola route, is one of the most popular routes to summit Kilimanjaro. One of the many reasons Marangu is so popular is because it’s the least expensive route, and another reason is Marangu route can be done in 5 days. This is not always the best way, due to a shorter acclimatisation period. The Marangu route does however offer you the option of spending an extra acclimatisation day on the mountain making a six day trek. We recommend taking the extra day if you’re extra sensitive to the elevation or you are coming from sea level. Shared hut accommodation on the Marangu route forms one of the main differences compared to the other routes. It offers you a relatively luxurious feel, being able to sleep in huts along the entire route. All your equipment and supplies are portered, and a cook prepares all your meals so you are fueled and ready to go!

After breakfast and briefing drive to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate (about 1 hour), register and commence the climb. Walk through the rainforest to the Mandara encampment. Posted on Tripadvisor Elisabeth GVerified Exceptionnel ! We had an incredible 3-day safari experience with Maisha Adventures from Arusha. Our guide, Benny, was fantastic — super knowledgeable, friendly, and amazing at spotting wildlife. We visited Lake Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire National Park, and were lucky enough to see the Big Five along with so many other animals throughout the trip. A huge shoutout as well to our chef Peter, who made excellent meals the entire time. The campsite accommodation was really comfortable and well organised, and having a bonfire every night made the whole experience even more special. Everything was very well planned from start to finish, and the atmosphere was great throughout the safari. I’d highly recommend Maisha Adventures to anyone looking for an unforgettable safari experience in Tanzania!Posted on Tripadvisor Célia MVerified Une expérience incroyable ! Posted on Tripadvisor Bella WVerified Incredible 3-Day Safari I participated in the 3-day safari with Benny, and it was incredible. Myself and my 6 friends had the most amazing experience on safari with Maisha adventures. We visited Lake Manyara, Ngorogoro Crater and Terngere National Park. The safari itself was the best experience I’ve ever had. We saw the big 5 and much more. I couldn’t recommend this trip enough and the 3 different locations added something interesting and fun to every day! 10/10 couldn’t recommend enough!!Posted on Tripadvisor Anna FVerified 3 day safari I went on the 3 day safari with a group of friends. The guides were amazing and knew everything about the parks, and it was really nice to get to visit 3 different parks. The food was incredible. However, the accommodation was not great. The beds were very hard and the common area was uncomfortable. It was definitely not good value for money in terms of the accommodation. Other than that, the safari was great
